I have met Kate at Blues dancing and we kept in touch over the years. When she approached me to photograph her wedding, I was very excited. I love photographing weddings for my fellow dance friends, as there is sure to be a great dance performance for the first dance! And Andy and Kate did not disappoint at all!
The wedding at Oaks Park Dance Pavillion at Oaks Bottom Park was a small, intimate and relaxed affair where guests wondered to the fairgrounds – and we also used the beautiful backdrops for portraits such as the carousel (Merry-go-round) and the skating rink! When I received their worksheet back, I noticed she said “There may be a Pirate or two”. We did not have a pirate but we definitely had two Jedi masters as guests. Kate made her own beautiful and delicious cake, and decorated it wonderfully. The couple also provided many games for the guests to enjoy! One other unique aspect was that instead of a sand ceremony, they had a beer ceremony where they mixed two beers and drank it at the altar!
