May and Elman had an elegant wedding at one of our favorite wedding venues in town, the Portland Art Museum. It was the kind of wedding you want to relive over and over again. May is Chinese and Elman is Azerbaijani which made for a very eclectic evening with some incredible cultural touches!
Before the ceremony, the bride got ready at the Paramount Hotel in Downtown Portland. May wore a stunning beaded ball gown with an elegant, romantic cathedral veil. It certainly made for some magical moments. The bride was greeted by the groom and groomsmen as they met her in the hotel lobby to personally escort the couple to their wedding site in beautiful, luxury cars. Like a true gentleman, Elman knelt down and handed May a gorgeous lily and white orchid bouquet courtesy of Vibrant Flowers. At this time the groom also helped place a red sash around the bride.
The ceremony and reception were both held at the Portland Art Museum. The bride was escorted by her father and the guests were treated to a lovely, intimate ceremony. Music was provided by pianist John Gilmore. In the capable and experienced hands of Art of Catering and wedding planner Whitney from Soiree, the Sunken Ballroom was quickly transformed from a splendid ceremonial space to an incredibly unique ballroom, equipped with perfect lighting, sumptuous dishes (again, courtesy of Art Of Catering) and even a liquid nitrogen dessert presentation. How neat! It was the first time I have seen such a presentation, and Art Of Catering, one the most unique caterers did a fantastic job. Whitney from Soiree was making sure wedding ran on time and all the little pieces were falling in place perfectly.
The couple had an astounding grand entrance right after their slideshow, paired with a wonderful first dance. Those two can dance! In fact, spectacular dancing was a common theme throughout the night! Guests were treated to a modern art dance performance thanks to Portland’s own, BodyVox and a very special cultural dance performed by the groom’s cousin Samir and Lena. DJ Clint Kuper did an excellent job keeping the guests dancing late into the night.
Overall it was a beautiful, festive wedding accompanied with premier entertainment and dining. Thank you West Coast Event Productions for providing the elegant tables and other decor. The tasty and gorgeous cake is by Le Cookie Monkey!
These are some of our favorite images from the day. Enjoy!
