It is always a great honor to photograph good friend’s weddings. I have known Amy and Dan for years from swing dancing, and they are a super cute couple. They planned a lot of the details with help of friends, and decided to utilize Springhouse Cellar Winery at Hood River, Columbia Gorge.
Of course no dancer would be complete without a great band so they also hired Green Tambourine – a favorite band in Portland. The members of the band are super talented, but also really good swing dancers and good friends. I have never been to Springhouse Cellar Winery before but what a gorgeous place! It is located in a converted 1920’s cannery in downtown Hood River, Oregon. Needlessly to say – lots of great details done by friends, paper (and real) flowers, tons of swing dancing, great pies brought by friends. Our friend Rob Donnan was the MC, and Bret Hutchinson was the officiant. Just a fantastic time all around! Catering was done by Boda’s Kitchen, and the tamales were to die for!
Amy and Dan also did a dance jam – basically a time when everybody circles around the special couple and steal them for a dance. And Dan surprised Amy with a beautifully performed song with his guitar he has been secretly rehearsing!
