Double the Joy: A Magical Twin Bat Mitzvah at Congregation Beth Israel & The Odditorium

A Beautiful B’not Mitzvah at Congregation Beth Israel

What’s better than celebrating a Bat Mitzvah in Portland? Celebrating two at once! These incredible twins had their B’not Mitzvah (that’s the fancy term for a joint Bat Mitzvah) at the stunning Congregation Beth Israel, and let me tell you—it was a day full of love, laughter, and the most heartwarming family moments.

We kicked things off with family portraits outdoors, and Mother Nature totally cooperated. The light was just perfect for capturing those sweet moments between the girls, their parents, and their extended family. Of course, we had to snap a few solo portraits of each Bat Mitzvah girl too—this was their big day, after all!

Once we moved inside, I took full advantage of Congregation Beth Israel’s gorgeous architecture for some classic, timeless portraits. The details in this space are just beyond stunning. Rabbi Michael Z. Cahana and Senior Cantor Ida Rae Cahana led the girls through their Torah readings and prayers, making for such a meaningful and proud moment for everyone in the room. After capturing a few more portraits, it was time to switch gears and get ready for an epic celebration at The Odditorium.

A Reception Like No Other at The Odditorium

If you’re looking for a Portland Bat Mitzvah reception venue that’s anything but ordinary, The Skeleton Key Odditorium is it! This quirky, fascinating space is part museum, part curiosity shop, and part creative hub—oh, and it also happens to be the recording studio and artistic space of the Dandy Warhols (how cool is that?!).

The energy was off the charts the moment guests arrived. Couve Photobooth kept everyone entertained with their hilarious props, while DJ Digital Hitz had the dance floor packed all night long. And let’s talk about the desserts—because oh my goodness. Sewell Sweets brought their A-game, and let’s just say no one left without indulging in something delicious.

After the heartfelt speeches from the girls’ parents and family friends, it was time for the Hora—and you know a party is next-level when the Bat Mitzvah girls are lifted high in the air on chairs! The night continued with hours of dancing, laughter, and the most magical ambiance, thanks to the DJ’s amazing lighting setup.

This Bat Mitzvah was a dream to photograph—double the mitzvah, double the fun! Mazel tov to these amazing twins and their family for such a memorable and beautiful celebration!
