Kasia and Karim met at a Lebanese restaurant through one of their mutual friends. It wasn’t even a set up – he needed a wedding date and Kasia loves weddings and wanted to hang out with their mutual friend, and the rest is history! For their wedding, they wanted an intimate, modern space downtown that could be personalized easily and Urban Studio was the perfect fit! A blank slate in the heart of the Pearl!
A lot of attention went to details. Her dress is Phyllis, by Maggie Sottero and her shoes are Vince Camuto. She is especially happy that she got a killer deal on them and that she can wear again! And for a change, they were very comfortable! She was on the dance floor the entire night with them on! Her earrings and bracelet are from Swarovski and they sparkled! My hairpiece was her something borrowed from our mutual friend Charlotte and so was her blue garter (that was over 30 years old and has been handed down from her aunt to her mom and now to her!) Her white garter was handmade – she picked out the materials with her bridesmaid and her mom created a masterpiece!
One of their favorite thing was their pedicab ride from the ceremony to the venue! It was a surprise for Karim and gift from her sister/Matron of Honor. They really enjoyed the time spent together immediately following the ceremony, and how lucky they were to have such great weather!
Her favorite moment? “Seeing Karim waiting for me at the end of the aisle. I saw nothing else!”
Even though they were too excited to eat, Pearl Catering did a wonderful job! They received compliments all night. They also received raving reviews on the wine, provided by their friend Andy Diaz at Blackbird Wine Shop (I am a big fan of this shop as well), and the Pastry Department from The Nines did a wonderful job with the cake – one slice of coconut cake with passion fruit and one of chocolate cake for everyone, the perfect pair!
The dancing was also great – a mix of Lebanese and popular tunes, provided by amazing Encore Mobile DJ‘s. The florist was Bloomsberry Floral and hair and make up by Cassandra Kennedy. Wedding ceremony site was The Nines Hotel.
Their next adventure is getting a house together! I wish the best of luck to them!
